Introducing Our New Game Security Report Tool
Today we’re launching our Game Security Report Tool, a new command-line application that scans your game builds and helps you ship cleaner, safer and more professional releases.
The tool automatically analyzes your entire game directory and runs 25 different security and cleanup checks. It identifies issues that can trigger antivirus false positives, cause Windows SmartScreen warnings, leave behind risky or unnecessary files, make your build look unprofessional, and more! For every problem it finds, it gives you clear, actionable recommendations on how to fix it.
What the Tool Does:
- Scans for risky files and leftover development artifacts
- Suggests compiler flags that increase security
- Detects common causes of antivirus false positives
- Helps reduce Windows SmartScreen annoyances
- Suggests cleanups to make your game directory more professional
- Pinpoints parts that are of interest to attackers
- And more...
- Works on any game, not just those protected by us
Why We Built This
Many games have a really 'dirty' game directory, that not only looks unprofessional, but also adds risks. Publishers are often unaware of this because they don't have a game security team. We are going to be that helping hand. We’ve seen too many games ship with unnecessary files, debug information and risky configurations that create problems down the line. With this tool, we want to give our clients an easy way to catch these issues before release, without needing a dedicated security team.
